The Madison Municipal Building was a municipal project in Madison, WI. Completed in 2018, the 74,880 sq. ft. plan had an estimated budget of $30,200,00.
Home to many of Madison’s essential city employees and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Madison’s Municipal Building, located at 215 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, received some much-needed renovations in 2018. This approximately 75,000 GSF project restored historically significant interior elements, including the complete replacement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and communication systems. In addition, the roof was replaced with 100% preservation of the historic exterior masonry and windows, and there were several comprehensive interior architectural renovations and restorations. As with many of our projects, MCC provided cost estimates beginning at conceptual design and throughout the entire design process all of the way through bid documents. Multiple design options were developed at conceptual design with complimentary cost estimates provided to the owner to select a final design. In addition, early in the design process, MCC assisted the architecture team, MSR Design, to develop multiple add alternates, ensuring that the project would ultimately be delivered within the funds available for construction.
