The University of Illinois at Chicago Engineering Innovation Building was an education project in Chicago, Illinois. Completed in 2019, the 57,500 sq. ft. plan had an estimated budget of $31,893,950.

For students of the engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering departments, the University of Illinois at Chicago’s new Engineering Innovation Building provides many different research capabilities.The new 57,500 SF building features a state-of-the-art, four-story, high bay structural testing lab, the first of its kind built on campus. This high bay structural testing lab enables engineers and industry professionals to develop and test large and heavy infrastructural components. The bay rests on a 6-foot-thick reinforced concrete slab designed to support massive pieces of infrastructure and features a 30-foot-high L-shaped reactive wall. The building also features an exterior water testing flume, wet laboratories, dry laboratories, classrooms, and office spaces.MCC provided cost estimates at the conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction document levels.
